Would you please be so good as to send the following out to your CARLA email list. Thanks so much. Michael Jupin
Dear Religious Leaders of Charleston:
This is an invitation to you to participate in the Trinity (Episcopal Church, Wall Street) Institute's 42nd National Theological 2012 Conference, Radical Christian Life: Equipping Ourselves for Social Change.
The conference will be webcast this coming Friday evening, December 7th and Saturday morning and afternoon, December 8th at St. John's Episcopal Church, Leon Sullivan Blvd and Quarrier Streets in downtown Charleston.
The conference begins with the opening service Friday, December 7th from 7:00-8:30 p.m. where the preacher will be Sr. Joan Chittister, OSB.
The conference continues on Saturday, December 8th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. with a lunch break from noon to 1:30 p.m. There will be break out groups and questions for discussion during the day. You may bring you own brown bag lunch or go out for lunch. Coffee will be available for the morning sessions. See the conference schedule at http://www.trinitywallstreet.org/faith/institute/2012/schedule
The webcast will be in Room 209 of St. John's. You may park in the lot to the east of the church and enter the side door, taking the elevator (or stairs) to the second floor. The church and meeting room will be open at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
There is no cost to view the service on Friday evening. The cost for Saturday is $ 10 to help defray some of the expense for the registering of the webcast with Trinity.
Please feel free to invite members of your congregation and others to join in this program. While you do not need to register for the program and can just "show up" it would be helpful for St. John's to know if you and others are planning to attend so that we may set up the appropriate number of spaces for break out groups and provide sufficient materials. Please contact the interim rector, the Rev. Michael Jupin at mjupin@stjohnswv.org with those numbers.
St. John's is pleased to host the only webcast site in West Virginia for this year's Trinity Institute Conference. We look forward to the opportunity to share this experience with you.
