Fwd: IMPORTANT UPDATE:OCT 4"TRACES" EVENT

Hi Friends
Hello key supporters,

Please See Attachment!

The Thursday event has been upgraded to a catered event with real food so more people can stay downtown or come right from work.

This provides another reason to let your folks know about or remind them about this event and hopefully is an incentive for increasing turnout.

Thanks ,
Mel

Next CARLA Meeting - Tues Oct 6 at 9:00 am

Charleston Area Religious Leaders (Interfaith / Clergy) 'Association'

Next Meeting

Tuesday, Oct 6

9am - 10:30

at

WV National Guard Family Programs Office
(directions below)

Hosted by:

Chaplain Bruce Reed

Chaplain (LTC) Bruce D. Reed

Full Time Support Chaplain WVARNG

111th Engineer Brigade Chaplain

1-304-561-6328 (Office)

1-304-549-7939 (BlackBerry)

Directions to WV National Guard Family Programs Office, 1703 Coonskin Drive, Charleston, WV 26311.

1)  Take Rt 114 East from Charleston (Greenbriar Street hill)
2)  Stay in the right hand lane and bear right at the Airport Road
3)  Turn left at the GoMart, Coonskin Drive. (Signs to the National Guard are posted)
4)  Family Programs Office is the large house on the right(with a white sign with a purple circle) that is past the Military Headquarters Buildings and across from the Armory (sign on the Building on the left).  If you go into Coonskin Park, you have gone too far.

There is a parking lot to the left of the Family Program Office house - but,
it is usually full by 8:00. So, seek a space on the pull-in spots on the
left, before you get to the Family Program Office (or park in the lot to the
left of the main brick Headquarters building, which is on the right - before
the Family Program Office.)  Confused?? So am I most days.  I will try to get our staff to park off the main Parking lot. That will allow 10-12 spaces.

You can enter the Office from the front door - or the steps-up from the
parking side.

The ' L I T T L E ' Things ~

The ' T ' Things~
cid:1.1313083027@web110512.mail.gq1.yahoo.com
As you might remember, the head of a company survived
9/11 because his son started kindergarten

Another fellow was alive because it was
His turn to bring donuts.

One woman was late because her
Alarm clock didn't go off in time.

One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike
Because of an auto accident.

One of them
Missed his bus.

One spilled food on her clothes and had to take
Time to change.

One's
Car wouldn't start.

One couldn't
Get a taxi.

The one that struck me was the man
Who put on a new pair of shoes that morning,
Took the various means to get to work
But before he got there, he developed
a blister on his foot.

He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid
That is why he is alive today...
cid:2.1313083028@web110512.mail.gq1.yahoo.com

Now when I am
Stuck in traffic
 ,
Miss an elevator,
Turn back to answer a ringing telephone ...
All the little things that annoy me.
I think to myself,
This is exactly where

God wants me to be
At this very moment..

cid:3.1313083028@web110512.mail.gq1.yahoo.com
Next time your morning seems to be
Going wrong
You can't seem to find the car keys,
You hit every traffic light,
Don't get mad or frustrated;
It May be just that
God is at work watching over you.

cid:4.1313083028@web110512.mail.gq1.yahoo.com
May God continue to bless you
With all those annoying little things
And may you remember their possible purpose.
cid:5.1313083028@web110512.mail.gq1.yahoo.com
Pass this on to someone else, if you'd like.
There is NO LUCK attached.
If you delete this, it's okay:

God's Love Is Not Dependent On E-Mail !!

Fwd: RCCR Email

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Randall Flanagan <rff7@aol.com>
Date: Tuesday, September 1, 2009
Subject: RCCR Email
To: Sky Kershner <sky@kpcc.com>
Cc: "Debra A. Payne" <payned@rccr.org>, Rose Edington <revedington@gmail.com>

Sky

Would you please pass this along to the CARLA Mailing
list.  I will be unable to attend the meeting tomorrow, but Rose Edington
will be.  RCCR is experiencing a cash flow problem caused by the slow down
in the housing market.  Hence, I need to pass this message along.  Thanks
for your help.

Dear Colleagues in Ministry,

As many of you know, the Religious Coalition for Community
Renewal  has provided for those who are homeless in many different
ways.  RCCR has made it possible for low to middle income persons to
purchase a house for themselves and their families.  Through Smith Street
Station, persons in need of a hand up have found a place to live and rebuild a
good and productive life.  Through the Samaritan Inn, men have been
provided a place for healing, freedom from addiction, and personal
change.  Many have gone on to be productive contributing members of
the community.

The sources for funding RCCR are many and varied.  One
of the primary ones is the sale of houses that RCCR has built.  Due to the
downturn in the economy, RCCR is facing a very difficult cash flow
problem.  RCCR must turn now to the very ones who founded this ministry –
the religious community.  To put it simply, we need every congregation who
can to take an offering for the work of RCCR.  It would be great if every
congregation could meet a goal of $500.  We need this money now.  We
are pursuing grants and other funding sources, but this money is needed now for
the ongoing operation of RCCR.

Please do what you can in each of your congregations.
If you would like to have someone come and share about the ministry at RCCR
please contact our executive director, Debra Payne.  We need your help
now.  Whatever you can do will make a big difference for those who are
served by RCCR.

Grace and peace,

Randall F. Flanagan, Christ Church United Methodist

President. RCCR Board of Directors
